war hungry s/t

I've been slacking on listening to new music lately. With only my iPhone to put music on, I sort of have to limit what I listen to when I'm not at home.
I downloaded the new War Hungry s/t LP. It's good. I've always loved War Hungry and thought maybe they would stop putting out material because Stick Together blew up..happy that didn't happen. You should check it out, download
I've only listened to it once but I like it.

Our house!

When I first moved back to Indiaucky I lived with my Grandfather in Jeffersonville, IN. In July, Shella and I signed a lease for our house in Lousville. Jim recently moved in and we're one big happy family...ha
I like our house a lot. It's not really hardcore related except the constant mosh that happens in the hallways.
This is our house!

Recent thought..

Saturday night Jim invited our friend AJ over. He brought his friend, some guy who filmed the show. He looked older, I figured he was an older guy who "use" to be "into" hardcore.
As the night carried on, we watched the Another Mistake set from that night. The guy made dumb commentary "why is punching the air so cool?" "hardcore dancing is stupid" "straightedge is outdated" "hardcore is outdated" "I use to like hardcore then I grew up" type of shit. I asked him how old he was, 23. Twenty fucking three talking like he was some 30 year old wash up, hasbeen, but no.
Upon further investigation, the only "hardcore" bands he could name and said he was interested in were Breather Resist, and Black Cross. I just had to walk away at this point. I know people are entitled to their opinions, and I should respect them no matter how ignorant they sound to me. How are you going to come into someone's house and insult everything they love and live for? I realize he probably didn't know what he was talking about but the simple fact that he had no filter, no tact, just continued to bash "hardcore" and talk about how stupid straightedge is. I love hardcore. I love the straightedge.
I don't mean any hard feelings towards this guy, but I'm 23. I don't find myself saying shit like "outdated." I haven't been alive that long to make those sort of judgments. He really frustrated me. When someone talks badly about something they know little to nothing about it's irritating. It's cool to have an opinion but have a little knowledge of the topic.

KEEPERS OF THE FAITH

New Terror song "STICK TIGHT"
I've listened to this song about 30 times. You can download it HERE.

Keepers of the Faith is a new movement started by Scott Vogel of Terror. Basically in remembrance of Raybeez (WARZONE). It's a movement dedicated to hardcore kids who keep hardcore alive. This is me, this is my friends, hopefully you and your friends.
Get into it.

June 4th

Tomorrow Jim and I are going to Indianapolis for:

Lion of Judah
Stick Together
Thought Crusade
Black Breath
GIVE
I am pretttty excited. I haven't seen LOJ since they released "Universal Peace" in '06 and Thought Crusade at Burning Fight and GIVE in DC earlier in the year.. I think I've seen Black Breath but they didn't stick out. Everyone is talking about their new record. I haven't given it a listen yet.. I should. Josh bought me a Stick Together tape when he saw them in Nashville. I like it a lot. Youth crewwww.

I have to be up for work in about 2 hours. I slept from 6:30pm-10:15pm. The smart thing would be to try to sleep for an hour and a half but I will probably make a bad choice..Stay up and drink a lot of coffee all day.

This is Hardcore 2010

It's that time again for THIS IS HARDCORE in Philadelphia. I haven't been since 2006 due to family shit every god damn year. This year, nothing, nothing is stopping me.

The lineup has blown my mind. I wasn't expecting Sheer Terror to be announced and well, they were.

Bought tickets today. I don't know what else to say about this.

Evil Grimace (Louisville)

I don't know if any of you remember Brainz Out.. but Evil Grimace is the 2010 version.
Basically, a group of goofy dudes playing spoof youth crew esque hardcore. You'll never see half of the band members at a hardcore show *unless its locals only* but I like the music a lot so I thought I would post about it.

DEMO 2010
Check out, "Out of Breath With the World."

TRUTHandRIGHTS pt2

Have you heard?! TRUTHandRIGHTS put songs on their Myspace..
"It's a beautiful day, but you have'nt slept yet, runnin over ya bills and look at all the debt left, with-ya money-money man you love to be the life of the party, what a sufferin fool that's why you're so sorry"

Keep your fingers crossed that they will still come to Louisville and also play THIS IS HARDCORE 2010.

NAILED SHUT (Memphis)

NAILED SHUT

Politically driven hardcore out of Memphis, TN. They just put up 2 songs on their Myspace. I wish I had a download link or an order link for their music. I'll see what I can do to get it.
Total Seperation is the better track of the two. The breakdown at like 2mins is heavy.
FFO: Harvest.. Earth Crisis.. and 90s metalcore.

I'm into it.

Soul Search

DOWNLOAD 2010 DEMO
Another NYHC influneced band, Soul Search(CA). The recent influx of NYHC is out of control and awesome all in the same. SOUL SEARCH is awesome. You should check out their 2010 demo. I really like this.

Big things...

Well, I've been in Louisville for almost two weeks now. The time spent here so far has been nothing short of spectacular. The only semi-downside is I don't have the internet password at my place and I don't know how to figure it out. Its not been a bad thing. Being away from the computer has given me more time for friends, Sophia, and catching up on reading. (I'm updating via my Blackberry).
The move went well. I finished my last final on Wednesday and had everything packed on Tuesday. I left Thursday morning at 530am. It was hard leaving my Mom but she was very positive about the move. She has continued to be very positive. Sophia and I arrived in Louisville around 930PM (we stopped a lot to just chill and run around).Hanged out with the boys and stayed at Keith's house. I don't remember a lot from that night so I'm sure it was good. Since the first night everyone has been hanging out... Like nonstop hanging out. I haven't been home alone at all except to sleep and even then Dusty has been sleeping over every weekend and Shella this weekend. Its been a great transition... I mean I didn't expect my friends to be so stoked on me being back. I defiantly underestimated them.<3
I want to update more about parties, bands, friends but its hard to think of all the great stuff that's gone on! I have a lot of photos I want to post and bands I want to talk about but that will all have to wait until I have time to get on my laptop.

It's coming....TRUTHandRIGHTS

" This band is truly the best thing that has happened for me in a decade, HANDS DOWN. In fact, I also believe it is some of the best work I've ever done, which for Leeway fans, it's a hard to top accomplishment(I see by the T in ya pics ur a fan). We will drop 5 songs(first week in May) on our soon to be debut/LP, which will be released at the end of the summer. "
"My whole being is so open and through the influence and inspiration my boys have given me I can go higher than ever before..... it's been like I'm in some 1984 time capsule, and I'm starting my first band, and I'm in some kinda re-birth. I have not felt or looked this good in over 15 years, and you will feel it.....the only way anyone can stop me now is by killing me..... TRUTHandRIGHTS is a runaway freight train breaking through all boundaries. The concept of TRUTHandRIGHTS is a new REVOLUTION in this thing of ours, HC. I no longer call it a scene. It's worldwide now now, and I have fans younger than my songs. "
"TRUTHandRIGHTS is a revolution for a better lifestyle. HC is not a sound at all.... it is a lifestyle, a celebration of a life on your terms, and each of you can right grab a hold of this thing and make your own history and turn this all around for the better."- Eddie Sutton

All I'm saying is, get ready. I'm very excited to hear this new band. He said end of April music should be dropping on the Myspace. Go add TRUTHandRIGHTS on Myspace, shoot them a message, I promise you'll get a reply from man himself, Eddie Sutton.

PRAISE! (pt 2)

A good coreman informed me today that PRAISE put up an online merch store! I love Praise. I love hardcore merch. You should have already PRE ORDERED their 7" coming out on REACT RECORDS, "Changing. Healing" but in case you didn't, you can order it along with three tshirt designs HERE.
Don't sleep on PRAISE! You can lurk them on their own blog .

*this picture is from their show in Baltimore with Cro Mags, Set to Explode, and Killing Time*

Kentucky

I'm also moving back to LOUISVILLE! in less then 2 weeks.

I can't even put into words how happy I've been the last two months. Between visiting Louisville, Kelly coming back to Chinco with me for a week, United Blood, deciding to move back to Louisville, doing well in school, getting my job back at The Gardner School...SHIT IS SO TIGHT.
I am MOST excited to see my friends on a daily basis. Fuckin right.

There's a new Southern KY hardcore/metal messageboard. It's entertaining for the most part.

So many good shows are happening in the next few months in Louisville. Hopefully, Louisville hardcore scene will make a comeback (as far as shows go).

I also think I might be going to see RZL DZL in Columbus, OH (if the $$ is right) the day after I move back. If I don't get to go, I still get to see Touche Amore so... WIN WIN WIN WIN.

Mix for Dusty

I made a mix for my friend Dusty back in Kentucky. It's a pretty cool mix. I'm sending it to him tomorrow but I thought I would share it with some of yall!

You can download it HERE

Bitter End

This is all I care about.
