Records

I need to update on my recent purchases from Vinyl Conflict.
I will do it soon enough. I want to punch someone in the face. I'm in a bad mood. I don't want to see or talk to anyone. I feel like I am sick. I don't have any money. It sucks.
I want to eat fried chicken and watermelon all night long. I don't have either. I'm gonna pout about it.

Blacklisted

My favorite hardcore band for the past, what, 4 years has been Blacklisted. Last night my friend Dylan from Kentucky saw them in Nashville and sent me this:

Yeeaaaah! How awesome is that? Me! Burning Fight in Chicago!
I get to see Blacklisted on Friday! Stoked!

Daily Mosh List

October 17th, Richmond Hardcore

Can you believe I was suppose to get married today? Wow, what a weird life that would have been. All I have to say is that I'm really glad I'm single.
Okay, on to what matters: Hardcore

Last night

Dead End Path It was only their 3rd show and they represented Wilkes Barre hardcore really well. They had limited tapes and shirts. Neither of which I got because I couldn't get to the merch tables. Hopefully, they will send me some. You can still download their demo FOR FREE online, right here. Don't sleep on this band. They should be coming back to Richmond in December!

Naysayer had a surprise set because War Hungry was late. Always a pleasure seeing Naysayer. They played like 4 songs. Crowd looked confused because they introduced themselves as War Hungry. They have a 7" out on Reaper. Richmond hardcore is on top.

Bracewar played a good set. I can't remember a bad time I've seen Bracewar though. I think their hype sort of died (not in these parts) but the songs from their new 7" are good. I don't know what the deal is with buying it. I think they said you could pick it up at the show. I thought I saw it at Vinyl Conflict I don't know. I'll see what I can find out about it post something more solid.

Cold World played before Floorpunch. I don't remember the last time I saw Cold World. It hasn't been that long or has it? Either way, I really like their newer stuff, and like Bracewar, they have progressed into a more mature sounding band. It blows my mind that people don't like their stuff after Ice Grills. I think if they heard Dedicated to Babies..first they wouldn't hype on Ice Grillz as much. I don't know if Cold World is still a hype band. I don't think their shirts go for as much nowadays but kids still go nuts and that's all that ever matters.

Floorpunch was good. This was my first time seeing them. They've done a hand full of "reunion" shows for whatever reason. I like Floorpunch. I liked them more when I was straightedge. If would have saw them in 2004/5 I would have been much more stoked. I use to listen to them daily but obviously that faded out. It was still awesome hearing "Washed Up at 18." I remember when I use to get so bummed when my friends sold out. I would listen to Floorpunch, Ten Yard Fight, and Champion.

Overall, great show! I met some new people, saw some faces I haven't seen in awhile, and saw some, dare I say, friends?

Oh, since we all know a lady bitch gotta eat I ate a decent "TAMAL" @ La Bamba (I need to clarify that this La Bamba is NO WHERE as good as La Bamba "Burritos as Big as Your Head" in Louisville).

Book DEAD END PATH in your city, by the way. They want to tour and play as many shows as possible. Email Myspace

Daily Mosh List

So I'll start posting what I listen to the most everyday, well, as much as I feel like it.

The internet.

The problem with friendships and relationships is the internet.
If you don't have time for real people in your life but you have time to play on the internet all the time, you're a jerk.

The Great Depression

If you know me, you know that I use to live in Louisville, KY. Lou is about an hr from Cincinnati, OH. I went there for shows once a month or so, depending on who played. Well, two years ago, The Great Depression played a show in Covington, KY which is basically Cincinnati, OH. My ex boyfriend and I went. This was probably the best show I've been to in the Covington/Cincinnati area. They were so fucked up that one of them fell asleep playing. The downside of this show was so many fools talking during their set. They are an acoustic, two piece, so every chord counts, and when you can't hear it because of the fools talking, that's super annoying.
The Great Depression isn't together anymore but they are one of the most honest bands I've seen. Songs about love, depression, heartache, drug abuse, etc.. A recent shuffle had them catch my attention again. It seems like every fall/winter since that show I will repeatedly listen to The Great Depression. I feel like everyone should listen to them, regardless of them not being a band, download their album. I uploaded for you.

Tunes lately

I don't update this as much as I would like. Needless to say, I'm not busy or anything..just watching Friday Night Lights usually. I just started Season 2. I'm very into it.

I need to keep up with this more. I just want to post what I've been listening to lately.

Virginia State Fair

On Friday, a friend and I went to the State Fair of Virginia. We saw a lot of cute, stinky farm animals. We also saw some pigs fighting. It was awkward and loud.
We rode on a giant ferris wheel. It would have been way cuter if we didn't have to ride with these two rednecks talking about their dumb tattoos and failed marriages. I will say kissing at the top of a ferris wheel is pretty freakin' adorable though.
We watched some thugs get bucked off a mechanical bull. A lot of cute kids, mullets, kid with no pants on, shitty bluegrass(broke my heart), and funny redneck conversations.
OH, & a tiny lady. She was awesome. We talked to her for a minute but she didn't speak a lot of English.

Expire

My friend Jim told me to check them out. I downloaded their demo. It's good. Mediocre hardcore, which isn't a band thing, from Wisconsin. "Lately" is the best track on the demo. Vocals remind me of something else, almost identical. I can't think of who right now.

Demo
They are going on a 2 month tour, which already started. They are playing Richmond on December 11th.
Go see them in your town, buy their merch, mosh, spread the word.

Chest Pain

Fast, heavy, Infest-esque, Chest Pain. I hate using the word power violence but I suppose that is what they are. I think they are from Texas. I don't know much about them I got their demo from one of the members from my "Post Your Bands Demo" thread. They were one of the better bands I heard.
Demo
A lot of their songs lyrics seem to be about animal rights and politics. It's cool. Get into it.

Hardside

Hardside is from San Antonio, TX with a NYHC sound. They upped a demo, "Welcome to Hell."
The song Welcome to Hell, born to expire quote in it. It also has the hardest guest vocals. I dunno who they are. I guess I could find out.
Download their demo. You won't be disappointed.
