I was yours, right?
God damnit if I don't get to see Tegan and Sara for my birthday I will be upset. I'll go alone if I have to.
ps.
Boys are DOPES. Don't think I'm going to fall for some sweet talk after some other girl blew you off. I'm not a backburner type-a bitch.. You don't get to talk to me after your girl dumps you or some other betty breaks your heart, you try to get with me again.

Help me out.

I've been slacking real hard..
This is all I have been listening to lately. I swear to fucking god current hardcore is SO GOOD and the fact that so many idiots bitch and moan about "no good hardcore bands anymore" makes me want to..I don't know, start a zine with mix tapes and shit. I wish I had the motivation to do it. Maybe I will...Maybe.

Found out today a friend died in a car accident this morning at 2:36am. I am very sadden by this. JMoney was such a funny, laid back dude. He stayed real to himself and did his own thing. I have so many good memories with him. He took me on a few dates and we shared a New Years Eve kiss. He was a great guy. I cannot say enough good things about this man. A bit out of control at times but lived a good life. He will be missed so much and I will never forget the good times we shared.
Rest in peace, JMoney. xoxo

Records
I need to update on my recent purchases from Vinyl Conflict.
I will do it soon enough. I want to punch someone in the face. I'm in a bad mood. I don't want to see or talk to anyone. I feel like I am sick. I don't have any money. It sucks.
I want to eat fried chicken and watermelon all night long. I don't have either. I'm gonna pout about it.

October 17th, Richmond Hardcore
Can you believe I was suppose to get married today? Wow, what a weird life that would have been. All I have to say is that I'm really glad I'm single.
Okay, on to what matters: Hardcore
Last night
Dead End Path It was only their 3rd show and they represented Wilkes Barre hardcore really well. They had limited tapes and shirts. Neither of which I got because I couldn't get to the merch tables. Hopefully, they will send me some. You can still download their demo FOR FREE online, right here. Don't sleep on this band. They should be coming back to Richmond in December!
Naysayer had a surprise set because War Hungry was late. Always a pleasure seeing Naysayer. They played like 4 songs. Crowd looked confused because they introduced themselves as War Hungry. They have a 7" out on Reaper. Richmond hardcore is on top.
Bracewar played a good set. I can't remember a bad time I've seen Bracewar though. I think their hype sort of died (not in these parts) but the songs from their new 7" are good. I don't know what the deal is with buying it. I think they said you could pick it up at the show. I thought I saw it at Vinyl Conflict I don't know. I'll see what I can find out about it post something more solid.
Cold World played before Floorpunch. I don't remember the last time I saw Cold World. It hasn't been that long or has it? Either way, I really like their newer stuff, and like Bracewar, they have progressed into a more mature sounding band. It blows my mind that people don't like their stuff after Ice Grills. I think if they heard Dedicated to Babies..first they wouldn't hype on Ice Grillz as much. I don't know if Cold World is still a hype band. I don't think their shirts go for as much nowadays but kids still go nuts and that's all that ever matters.
Floorpunch was good. This was my first time seeing them. They've done a hand full of "reunion" shows for whatever reason. I like Floorpunch. I liked them more when I was straightedge. If would have saw them in 2004/5 I would have been much more stoked. I use to listen to them daily but obviously that faded out. It was still awesome hearing "Washed Up at 18." I remember when I use to get so bummed when my friends sold out. I would listen to Floorpunch, Ten Yard Fight, and Champion.
Overall, great show! I met some new people, saw some faces I haven't seen in awhile, and saw some, dare I say, friends?
Oh, since we all know a lady bitch gotta eat I ate a decent "TAMAL" @ La Bamba (I need to clarify that this La Bamba is NO WHERE as good as La Bamba "Burritos as Big as Your Head" in Louisville).

It's been a random mix day. Today I basically listened to early emo and tonight I've listened to raunchy ass rap. Oh and my feminist anthem, "Come to My Window."
I got mad food today, all free. It was pretty damn awesome to say the least. I also have some country fried steak sitting in the fridge for tomorrow.
It's hoodie weather. Tell your friends.

The internet.
The problem with friendships and relationships is the internet.
If you don't have time for real people in your life but you have time to play on the internet all the time, you're a jerk.
If you don't have time for real people in your life but you have time to play on the internet all the time, you're a jerk.
The Great Depression
If you know me, you know that I use to live in Louisville, KY. Lou is about an hr from Cincinnati, OH. I went there for shows once a month or so, depending on who played. Well, two years ago, The Great Depression played a show in Covington, KY which is basically Cincinnati, OH. My ex boyfriend and I went. This was probably the best show I've been to in the Covington/Cincinnati area. They were so fucked up that one of them fell asleep playing. The downside of this show was so many fools talking during their set. They are an acoustic, two piece, so every chord counts, and when you can't hear it because of the fools talking, that's super annoying.
The Great Depression isn't together anymore but they are one of the most honest bands I've seen. Songs about love, depression, heartache, drug abuse, etc.. A recent shuffle had them catch my attention again. It seems like every fall/winter since that show I will repeatedly listen to The Great Depression. I feel like everyone should listen to them, regardless of them not being a band, download their album. I uploaded for you.

Virginia State Fair
On Friday, a friend and I went to the State Fair of Virginia. We saw a lot of cute, stinky farm animals. We also saw some pigs fighting. It was awkward and loud.
We rode on a giant ferris wheel. It would have been way cuter if we didn't have to ride with these two rednecks talking about their dumb tattoos and failed marriages. I will say kissing at the top of a ferris wheel is pretty freakin' adorable though.
We watched some thugs get bucked off a mechanical bull. A lot of cute kids, mullets, kid with no pants on, shitty bluegrass(broke my heart), and funny redneck conversations.
OH, & a tiny lady. She was awesome. We talked to her for a minute but she didn't speak a lot of English.

Expire
My friend Jim told me to check them out. I downloaded their demo. It's good. Mediocre hardcore, which isn't a band thing, from Wisconsin. "Lately" is the best track on the demo. Vocals remind me of something else, almost identical. I can't think of who right now.
Myspace
Demo
They are going on a 2 month tour, which already started. They are playing Richmond on December 11th.
Go see them in your town, buy their merch, mosh, spread the word.
Chest Pain
Fast, heavy, Infest-esque, Chest Pain. I hate using the word power violence but I suppose that is what they are. I think they are from Texas. I don't know much about them I got their demo from one of the members from my "Post Your Bands Demo" thread. They were one of the better bands I heard.
Demo
A lot of their songs lyrics seem to be about animal rights and politics. It's cool. Get into it.
Hardside
Hardside is from San Antonio, TX with a NYHC sound. They upped a demo, "Welcome to Hell."
The song Welcome to Hell, born to expire quote in it. It also has the hardest guest vocals. I dunno who they are. I guess I could find out.
Download their demo. You won't be disappointed.

The rest of tonight will be spent making mixed cds because my IPOD radio transmitter cuts out so much and my ipod is full.

Merauder, jesus christ, this record is almost as good as Master Killer. Fuck it, it's right there.
Title track, God Is I, so fucking hard. My speakers cannot get loud enough. I haven't even finished listening to the record and I just needed to update.
If you don't have Merauder's "God Is I" PICK IT UP. For fans of hardcore.

New Leaves
Just kill me now. Everything Mike Kinsella does is perfect, New Leaves is no different. I adore him. It's a sick satisfying sadness I get while listening to Owen. I like this album, even though it's kinda lovey-dovey.
I'm in a terribly sad mood. I want to type more about this record, it deserves more, but I just can't do it. Curling up in my bed and listening to Owen until I pass out.

World of Pain
Have we talked about them yet? I feel like I've told people about them before, but maybe that was just on Myspace. They've been posted around the b9board a few times.
World of Pain from San Diego, CA probably for fans of heavy, beatdown-esque hardcore. Heavily influenced by Bulldoze and Cold as Life(in my humble opinion) this band is hard, or tries to be, whatever. I like the demo. Drowning is my favorite track, Curse of Life comes in a close 2nd place.
Seems like a lot of bands are going for heavy hardcore/beatdown lately. I support it. World of Pain does it well.
Download their free 3 song demo. Add them on Myspace, book them in your city, mosh.

Dead End Path
Dead End Path is a hardcore band from Wilkes Berre, PA. They have a 4 song demo up for FREE download. It's recorded really well.
Their Myspace names a lot of NYHC bands as influences, but vocally I don't hear it. Vocals remind me a lot of Unbroken. I am not complaining! Musically it's on point, heavy and hard. It also lists Outburst, which out of all the bands named, I can hear the most.
I really like the last track, Turn Cold. sometimes i feel like im against the wall
last day of summer shouldnt feel like fall
when im giving all my love to survive
and everything in the world has died
i have to fight, fight to survive
this cold front that keeps coming my way
The demo is good listening. If you're into bands like Unbroken, Outburst, Merauder, you'll like this. Check out their Myspace and download their demo. Let them know what you think. Book them in your city, mosh.

Perfect "Break Up" songs
It seems like there are so many good songs about breaking up. So, here's a list of songs I would put on a mix if I was broken up with.
Matt Skibba "Good Fucking Bye"
Kind of Like Spitting "Dodge Dart"
Last Days of April "Aspirin and Alcohol"
Tigers Jaw "I was Never Your Boyfriend"
Sheer Terror "3 Year Bitch"
Lemuria "Lipstick"
Make Do and Mend "TL"
Alkaline Trio "Lied My Face Off"
Title Fight "Youreyeah"
Rattletooth "Boys Lie" or whatever the title is
Poison the Well "Mid Air Love Message"
Suicide File "The Somme"
Blood for Blood "Bitch Called Hope"
Jessica Lea Mayfield "For Today"
Hot Rod Circuit "The Pharmacist"
Colin of Arabia "Sleeping With Someone I No Longer Love"
Ruiner "Getting Over the Overs"
OH!!! AND
Mario Ft Gucci Mane "Break Up"
So if you read this and have some to add feel free. These all came from the top of my head. If I went through my Itunes/pod I'm sure I'd find a lot more.

1. When people ignore me! I cannot stand being ignored, I'm sure most people dislike it. Espcially when it's someone who 'cares' about you. I don't know if they are trying to prove a point or what! It drives me crazy.
2. When people are unable to merge on the highway and it backs up traffic. Like what type of jerk can't see that a car has no place else to go, so you just sit there and not let them in? I don't understand.
3. Do I really need to go on?

Catty girls, working later than I'm suppose to, no parking, liars, people who eat onions in small spaces, coughing, cicadas, always being the first person to call, not getting my way.
Oh and a big one:
5. Guys thinking chivalry is dead so it's perfectly OK to talk to women like they are shit and expect to get ass out of it.

Steel Nation
I want to update about Steel Nation's new song, and LP they have coming out soon. They posted a new song on Myspace Friday. "Forever Wounded" I'm impressed. I think they've progressively gotten better since Pat left(whatever). A lot of people won't agree but "The Road to Hell" and "Odysseus" are two of the best songs they've ever done to date. At first, seeing them live was so weird because I was use to Pat, and having Steve and Neil sing weirded me out(though I LOVE VAN DAMAGE) it wasn't the same. But! After seeing them more and more it grew on me and I like them so much more now. They are such awesome guys too. Always great house guests, and hilarious to be around while they ramble at 3am about shit I cannot understand.
I'm anxiously awaiting the preorders for Forever Wounded. They are playing here Sept 12th @ Alley Katz w/Down to Nothing & Get Real and again on Oct 9th. I feel spoiled.
My point is, check out their new song, pre order FOREVER WOUNDED as soon as it comes up. Go see them in your city, smoke them out, get Ethan a hot girl, have fun.

You don't know shit
This is my first weekend in Richmond since I moved from the other apartment. I've been in Va Beach or Chincoteague pretty much every weekend. I want to go tomorrow but I don't have the money. Instead I'll spend the weekend with Sophia, doing laundry, lurking the internet, and being a total lame fuck.
I can't decide on how I feel about everything that's going on right now. Sometimes I feel really good and think things couldn't get better, than I come back to reality and realize that lies are lies and there is no truth behind them. No matter how badly I want to the truth to make itself appear, it's chillin somewhere else.
Anyways, I like Let Down a lot and I was bummed to hear they broke up. Everyone in the band was always so nice and one of them wrote about Sophia in his zine, saying something like "her dog had a constant red rocket of the mouth." That just rules. I wish I could have saw them play one last time at This is Hardcore but ya know. Seeing them was always fun.
I'm hoping to go to The Great American Hardcore Fest in Boston. Though it's not looking good right now. Tickets are $65, hotel ALONE would be $100+ a night, plus gas if I drove or a plane ticket if I flew. It's sucks to realize I have no friends in "hardcore" any more. I use to have a lot but they sort of dropped out or just stopped talking to me because I don't travel to shows any more.
I just feel so sad today and I shouldn't. I feel unappreciated to say the least. Where did the interest go? I don't know. I'm so sick of trying.
Tonight: China Panda, Netflix, & Sophia.
I want to update
about how typical everyone in my life is, about how often I convince myself that "this time is different" and you know what, it isn't. I'm so tired I can't barely open my eyes. I thought things would be different and I opened myself more and let people in, but it's not.
Just, really, if I could find a good thing about the way things are going right now, I would be the first to fucking tell you. It's not happening.
Bright side turned black.
I don't want to sound like a total cry baby but it's been a awhile since I've cried in bed.
In other news, Teddy Kennedy died and it's really bummed me out.

Biggie Smalls is the illest...
So I believe I found a new tattoo idea! It's gorgeous & I really want it. Corey Thompson aka Screech works out of Karma Tattoo in Erie, Pennsylvania
. He's an apprentice, or well, just got out of his apprenticeship. Hopefully, I can have some extra cash flow and get this done in the next 6 months. Who knows.
Polar Bear Club
I slept on this band, hard. Listening to "Sometimes Things Just Disappear" and I'm so impressed. I've seen them 3x and just didn't feel it.
Damn it all, I am just sad
Everything's staying as fucked up
Because all that I used to have
Burned out in jar like a lightning bug
I don't even want to get into what these lyrics hit me hard with. Fucking retarded on my part.
Anyways, I wish I would have picked this up sooner.
