Well, Lockin Out has blown up once again but these dudes have been doing this shit for a couple of years.. Remember Brink? Yeah, the movie too, but this band from Michigan recorded a demo that rules but sounds like shit. I guess they are still a band, I'm not sure. Either way, members of Brink and Face Reality started a band called STAND FOR. I just heard them demo. Straight up, Mental+Crunch Time+Righteous Jams came inside the womb of Lockin Out to present you with Stand For. Now, they aren't on Lockin Out but you would never know that. Download this demo. Run around your room like an idiot and do the mosh thing. CLICKY
How nutty! Thousands of people protesting on the streets! Follow the story here: Al Jazeera English What's Happening in Egypt? From the website linked above: UPDATE 39, 5:30 p.m. EST: Mubarak is speaking now. Important note: It's a recorded speech, and we don't know when it was recorded. The speech, as The Atlantic's Max Fisher wrote, is "just breathtakingly obvlivious and dishonest." Mubarak doesn't sound like he's leaving. Instead, he's trying to align himself with the protesters, against the rest of his government. He said he will "continue our political, economic, and social reforms for a free and democratic Egyptian society," but he didn't set a date for free elections. Like Ben Ali before him, Mubarak noted that he "dedicated his life" to his country. "Yes," says Al Jazeera's Dima Khatib, "presidency for life." Mubarak says he has asked the government to resign—everyone but him, that is. My favorite comment is from Ali Abunimah: "My dad listening to Mubarak: 'This is what the Americans call bullshit.'"
President Mubarak indicates he will disbar his government but will not step down himself, which is what protesters are calling for. This seems a little ridiculous. Clearly, Egyptian people are not happy with the political leaders that are appointed now. They are plagued with poverty, police brutality, and unemployment.
Working on booking a hotel for United Blood. I'm most excited about Breakdown. I'm hoping Think I Care or Count Me Out get announced. I know it's a hopeless thought but a girl can dream. or lack there of. I finally got wireless and seemed to just do a lot of nothing when I get online. I have a lot of new bands, shows, and cool shit going that I want to talk about.
Let's start with Best Coast. Jim introduced me to this cutesy surf rock band that I just fell in love with. I'm sure everyone has already heard them because they are on some Top 50 Rolling Stones shit. Either way, get your hands on some of their material.

The most frustrating thing about dating some one who is interested in the same things you are interested in (IE: HARDCORE) is that only one of your opinions can be right. Any time I say a band reminds me of or sounds like another band, Jim has to make this huge deal out of how he doesn't agree and how wrong I am. It's so annoying.
Also, I don't understand how kids that are just getting into hardcore learn all the words to every song on every lp, ep, demo, blah blah blah.
Most days I feel sort of old and bitter and jaded. I never want to feel like this.
I guess Think I Care is the new go to cool band to get hyped about after they broke up and few people gave a shit then. Fortunately, I've been moshing to Mongrel since what 05? and am well prepared for a Think I Care reunion. Oh, it happened already?
