I am looking forward to so many things!! This is kind of a first in a long time.
1. Blacklisted & Ruiner for Valentine's day! Hopefully seeing Mary and meeting her husband, Nick, Hannah, and Tony!
2. Turning 23 (ups&downs I guess)! I don't know why I'm excited about this. Just sort of am. I hope to spend my birthday eating sushi and drinking massive amounts of alcohol. I don't know where that will be yet because I have class from 1-10pm. Weekend will be good I hope.
3. United Blood! Seeing awesome bands, in a city I've grown to love, with the best of my friends. I am so excited to see everyone! <3
4. Closer to getting my degree. Another semester closer to getting my degree.
5. NYC with my brother! in May Bryan and I are going to New York City (my first time!) to see Jon Stewart doing taping of The Daily Show. I hope to eat some good food.
6. Summer days spent at the beach with Ashhates! Weekends will be spent on the beach hopefully on Chincoteague with Ashley. Getting tan, swimming, and moshing to Mental.
7. Road trips! Enough said.
8. Sound & Fury-Cali! Buying a plane ticket soon for S&F in Cali. I haven't been to California since I was like 3. I am very freaking excited.

Dead&Dreaming
DEAD & DREAMING
You can download their entire 2010 Winter Demo here Spread the word, tell your friends.
Here is the review I wrote for my friend's zine, BREAKING POINT ZINE.
Dead&Dreaming DEMO 2010
New Northern Virginia hardcore band, Dead&Dreaming just finished recording their first demo. 5 piece band featuring young hardcore kids, coming up listening to bands like Bad Seed and Trapped Under Ice. This certainly is not a diss because I love both of those bands.
I first heard this with the band in the car on the road to see War Hungry in DC. I liked it just okay then. It wasn't mastered and the vocals sounded a little off with the music. Now that it's been mastered, it sounds really awesome.
My favorite track is "Never Shall I." The opening guitar on this track really drew me into the song. Throughout the song holds my interest. Everything comes together very well. The vocals come in drawn out but intense, drums are on point, and bass line is slightly hidden behind the heavy guitar but its great. "Won't repeat that burning state..I'M SETTING MYSELF FREEEEE!!"
This is my favorite demo of 2010. I know it's kind early to say but I think Dead&Dreaming, if they play shows and tour, will get a lot of love from the hardcore scene. Hopefully, they will start doing shows and be able to get shit together
You need to check out Dead&Dreaming. They have their 2010 Winter demo up for download on their myspace.http://www.myspace.com/deaddreaming
Download the demo, mosh in your room, and cross your fingers they play a show in eventually.

My weekend..
After class on Saturday, I drove to Fredericksburg to see Brian. We were suppose to discuss details about Sound&Fury and look at tickets but we got sidetracked. I was also get my oil changed when I got there, but I didn't.
His friends Amanda, Jen, and Justin joined us on a mini trip to DC to see War Hungry & Cold World. We got mad lost a bunch of times but the drive was fun.
We got to the church late and missed Mob Mentality. I wanted to see them. Instead we got there in time for GIVE. I wasn't into them. You should check them out though.
Mother of Mercy fucking canceled. This is like the 3rd time they've canceled a show that I was attending. It's getting old. I'm being selfish and saying this because I'm sure they had a valid reason.. Maybe not. Letting me down (HAH).
War Hungry played next. It's always a pleasure seeing War Hungry. They sounded exceptionally good Saturday night. I picked up a tape of the 2 songs they put on the War Hungry/Bad Seed spilt that never came out? I don't know. Either way, picked up a tape, thanks to $1 from Brian and $1 from Tony.
Then Coke Bust played. I remember seeing them in '06 at The Champ with Bracewar I think. I got my glasses smashed in my face that night along with my first blackeye. They are good. They play good music and it's fun to watch but I don't listen to them. If you like fast 80s hardcore/punk, you should listen to them.
*~Oh I need to take a minute and talk about the Dora the Explorer/Diego party that was going on in the basement of this church during the show. Well, I don't have much to say about it except I really wanted to go and hang out with them. There were two people in Diego&Dora costumes. It looked like a damn fun party. Tons of beer/tequila was being wheeled in (so I was told). Hhahah ~*
Cold World headlined. They played with all their actual members! I've seen Cold World a lot. It never gets old. Seeing them play is always a fun time and none of their songs are boring/repetitive (to me).
DC has a weird scene. I like it but their mosh is weird and there were a lot of punk kids there. Not that I really give a shit about either. Just an observation.
Oh! I also saw my new friend Jordan. He is a very nice guy. I like talking to him.
After the show, my friend Tony and I talked for a bit outside. I need to make him a mix of current hardcore. He acts like he's too good to listen to current bands. We're changing that. He said he likes Give. He also likes the Baltimore Ravens, so I don't know how valid his opinion is on anything really. Hahahah!
After the boys helped load shit away, we headed home. The drive home was interesting. Brian, Justin, and I talked a lot about current hardcore bands, the hype that surrounds Trapped Under Ice and previously Cold World.
I spent the night at Brian's because his mother is so stinkin' sweet. She was awake waiting for us and offered to make me food at 2:30am! He and I sat in the basement for about an hour while he religiously searched Ebay.
Finally went to bed. My phone was dead the whole night and majority of Sunday, by the way. I woke up to Brian being real cute. That's all.
His mom just rules. She got me a poptart and some orange juice and helped me search for a place to get my oil changed.
Brian and I went to Walmart to get my oil changed and saw a pretty awesome seahorse tattoo... I had to head home. We said our goodbyes.
The weather was freaking terrible. Extremely rainy and foggy. I stopped at Ashley's to see her. We bullshitted for awhile. Talked about boys, food, and shit on people we don't like, PER UGE! Act like you know. We went to a tex mex place for nachos. We always have fun. I spent the night there. We were suppose to wake up early and go take photos but we stayed up really late. She went to work at noon and I started my drive home.
It was such a beautiful day today. I drove down rt 13 blaring 108, Foundation, The Rival Mob, The First Step and New Lows. I spent today trying to put my room together. My efforts were defeated because of all my brother's stuff still here.
This is much longer than I expected. Tomorrow will be spent on homework.

A look at the bigger picture...
It's frustrating that everyone cares so much about someone named Jay Reatard dying over 500,000 people dying in Haiti....
The priorities of American's are so fucked. That is all I have to say about that.

Blacklisted
So, I've been dreading this update. New BLACKLISTED "No One Deserves to Be Here More Than Me."
I love this record. It's catching a lot of heat but fuck it. "It's not a hardcore record." Despite whatever is being said, it's an amazing record. Musically, nothing can top "..Beat Goes On," lyrically, ON POINT. Depression, anxiety ridden songs, with the usual "I'm going crazy" mentality George writes about. I said, I fucking love this record. It's different. They have been changing their sound since "Peace On Earth...." Get into it.
I don't know who it sounds like. I don't know what band to relate it too. Fucking Nirvana, I guess. It's grungy/rock/hardcore influenced.
My favorite tracks: "No One Deserves To Be Here More Than Me" & "I am Extraordinary"
Personally, I am proud of them for writing a record they wanted to write, without giving way to rumors and bullshit people talk. Good for them for doing what they want, not what their fans want. It's raw, emotional, honest. This was THE MOST HYPED record of 2009. I believe it's lived up to the hype. It is in my top 5 records of 2009.
Fuck you if you don't like it because it's not your typical hardcore record. Get out of your box, squares. (DOUBLE NEGATIVE)
You can buy "No One Deserves To Be Here More Than Me," exclusively at DEATHWISH INC.
Support Blacklisted. Buy their new record from Deathwish, buy their new 7" from Six Feet Under(I don't know much about this 7" yet. Few songs from LP with a new version of The P.I.G. I haven't gotten it yet, so we'll see). See them on their UPCOMING TOUR.
Bang your fucking head.
Fire & Ice
I don't think I've talked about Fire & Ice yet.
Let's change that.
Newer Richmond Hardcore band feat members of Iron Boots, Down to Nothing, Junkyard Dogs, and Demon Brother.
Of course an old-school sound, a lot of Leeway inspired guitar, vocals, eh, I don't know. I want to say they have a much more unique sound then a lot of bands coming forth, or at least the ones I talk about/listen to. Taking an Icemen song as your band name is pretty cool too.
They've been on tour with Foundation, Trapped Under Ice, Forfeit, Hardside, and others I guess. I'm not too sure who else they've played with lately. They are also playing in Baltimore at Sonar with Integrity, Ringworm, and Pulling Teeth. BIG THINGS! Go see them, mosh hard.
You can download the demo here and BUY THEIR 7". I don't know if it's still being sold or has been reissued or what. I'm pretty sure they had them at the show last night. 7" obviously is much smoother than the 2 songs on the demo. So, download it, get into them, buy it, then go see them on tour. Buy a shirt or something. Tell Mark you think he's got a sexy mouth.
Keep an eye on their Big Cartel webstore for cr00sh merch.

2010
I have no excuse for the lack of updates. I'm on here all the time. Some things are going shitty in my life and that's really all I want to focus my attention on. Stupid, right?
I quit my job. I fucking hated working for them. I quit to go back to school full time.
I start class on Monday. I haven't been in school for two years. I don't know how I feel about it.
Getting away from things will be a good change. I won't have time for shitty people or bails. It will be a good few months. I have to keep telling myself that. Busting my ass to get where I need to be. I'm lucky my mom is allowing me to go to school full-time. I'm very thankful for her and all she has taught me. She's a great woman.
Alright, hardcore updates now.
